During my time at MYM, we maintained frequent communication with our users—both creators and subscribers—through surveys, interviews, workshops, and more. One of the most common pieces of user feedback, accounting for roughly 20% of all responses, was the desire for a feature to host and book private live sessions.

Many creators expressed the need for an integrated solution, as they were relying on multiple platforms such as PayPal for payments and Instagram or WhatsApp for live sessions alongside MYM. This fragmentation failed to ensure content security against leaks, as well as protection from harassment and payment issues.
Through interviews and a dedicated workshop with content creators, we identified the key features needed for the launch of private live sessions. All the creators emphasized three main priorities: effective live moderation, the ability for both participants and themselves to actively use the camera and microphone, and optimized management of no-shows.
Thanks to the interviews with the creators, we understood their desire to avoid negotiating with users on the type, price, or duration of live sessions. Thus, we created a catalog of live session options where users can choose based on these criteria.
They also want bookings to integrate directly into their agenda through automatic synchronization with their professional calendar.
The user should quickly access the list of private live sessions offered by their chosen creator. If no option perfectly suits their needs, they can use the private messaging feature to communicate directly with the creator.
Booking should be simple and intuitive: the user browses the list of private live sessions, selects the one they’re interested in, and chooses the date and time that works best for them.
This new feature was the result of intense work involving many people. I enjoyed addressing an important need for both creators and users. In fact, we saw an increase in overall satisfaction on mym: +2 points for creators and +1 point for users in the month following the launch.
Although further optimizations and features are on the way, the results have been very positive, and the goals achieved.
I especially enjoyed working with my usual squad (Product Manager, Back & Front-end engineers), as well as the data, marketing, and growth teams.
